If you need to relocate the factory GM camera on a service body, topper or camper shell on a 2014-19 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra 1500/2500/3500, this is the kit you need.
These housings allow you to use the camera and harness originally installed on the stock tailgate. The kit is available in different configurations that allow for many different mounting options: 0°, 20°, 36° and 45°. Generally, 0° and 20° housings will be suitable for flatbeds or service bodies, while 36° and 45° will be suitable for other high mount applications and will require harness extensions (available separately: 2014-15 | 2016-19).
All housings are made from high strength ABS and are supplied with stainless bolts and brass hardware, insuring long life and serviceability. All housings include drain holes.

The kit is provided with three parts: Main Housing, Front Cover and Retainer. We also provide stainless 4x12mm and 4x18mm bolts to fasten the retainer to the front cover and the front cover to the main housing. All kits will require you to mount the camera into the front cover using the retainer that is provided with the kit – you WILL NOT use the retainer provided with the camera.
REMOVING FACTORY CAMERA FROM TAILGATE:
Begin by removing the Torx T-20 screws that attach the inspection plate to the tailgate, then remove the camera module from the tailgate handle by removing two Torx screws.
Disconnect the camera cable from the bulkhead connector to the left of the spare tire and pull the camera assembly out of the tailgate. Reattach the inspection plate to the tailgate.
REMOVING BRACKET FROM THE FACTORY CAMERA:
| The factory camera is attached to the bracket with two #1 Philipps screws in the upper right and bottom left of the camera. Remove both screws and the camera will release from the bracket. Once the camera is removed, it will be held into the housing with a retainer, so the two small Philipps screws you removed will not be needed.
After removing the mounting screws, remove the two small screws from the cable connector and CAREFULLY release the cable from the camera body, then remove the camera cable from the bracket by releasing it from the various attachment points. |

INSTALLING THE RELOCATION HOUSING ON THE VEHICLE:
| FACTORY CAMERA: Determine your mounting location and mark the cable opening and screw holes on the mounting surface. Drill a 3/4″ – 7/8″ hole and pass the camera connector through the hole into the housing base – WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND DEBURRING THE HOLE AND ADDING A GROMMET TO PROTECT THE CAMERA CABLE. Drill your screw holes and mount the housing base. Reconnect the factory camera cable to the rear of the camera, then using the retainer, attach the camera to the front panel with the two 12mm stainless bolts, clamping the camera in place. Attach the front panel to the housing base with the two 18mm stainless bolts. Reconnect the camera connector under the truck. AFTERMARKET CAMERA: Drill your screw holes and mount the housing base. Pass the camera through the mounting surface into the housing. Using the retainer, attach the camera to the front panel with the two 12mm stainless bolts, clamping the camera in place. Attach the front panel to the housing base with the two 18mm stainless bolts. Reconnect the camera connector under the truck. |
